Very nice. I’m guessing this was mounted…? I’ve seen many macro shots of bugs, and they generally bore me. But this is just a bit different (and I liked the caterpiller shot a few days back, too). I like how you make them look normal and yet caught up in some whimsical moment at the same time. Tonight I was going through my RSS feeds, catching up and deleting a couple of blogs along the way. Sometimes I wonder why I bookmarked a blog in the first place. Then I came to this one, and it was like: Ahhh! Nice. I’m consistently struck by the shots that I see here.
Unbelievable as always Andy. What lens were you using for this one?
And is this grayscale, or RGB?
Wow andy, feels like a trip .
Andy, how on earth did you take this one?

One hell of a macro Andy. I love the suggestion of wings without actually any being visible. Fantastic focus too.
The fly looks drunk. Excellent macro shot, I like it a lot.
Stunning macro…great angle!
Very different from most insects photos. Great work!
