This shot was taken with my new camera an old
FED 2, a 1958 Russian rangefinder Leica copy kindly donated to me by my Dad - thanks Dad! I love it, it's so well built. I've posted
Wind On and
90/20 recently which are close ups of this camera. I think I may try and get hold of the other FED's as they don't seem to be that expensive on eBay.
This is the first analogue picture to go on my blog and it won't be the last, I'm very pleased with the results, there seems to be a kind of depth and warm that I think I may have been lacking before, I'm not sure it's early days so far and it may be the case of a change is as good as a rest.
Good stuff, I love old (and not ridiculously expensive) rangefinders!
wow. this is great. looking forward to more.
there’s a certain quality to images procuced by an old camera. although your shot here is superb, i’m sure it doesn’t compare to holding the print in your hand and seeing its rich tones. and especially when its on good paper.
That’s a terrific shot – the purity of it looks like it has been shot digitally – joyous surprise to know that 35mm can still produce such good results – looking forward to more.
My fave color…. : ) FAntastic shot. A fun, texture overload!!!! Can’t wait to see more from this camera. The reflective quality of the ceiling , the grid on the right and that little spot of blue in the windows at the end , make this image for me
Proof it’s the photographer not the camera. Welcome to the world of real analog colour!
