Lack of updates here due to taking on the enormous task of moving Deceptive Media to WordPress, something I’ve wanted to do for sometime now. The hardest bit was mapping the database and rewriting all the urls (most).

With a lot of help from my brother (Digital Express) the task is now almost complete. Bear with me while I iron out the bugs and work on the the look. I’ll be posting an article in the news section soon with more info. See here for more info.

After taking Bubbles Macro III I added a little ink into the mix, the flash over exposed the shot but I like the high key effect.

I found a much better tutorial for photographing soap films. For this one I’m using a 90mm macro lens and extension tubes and still not getting as close to the action as A Kind of Magic. I guess He’s using a Canon MP-E 65mm or something similar.

A Kind of Magic has some excellent soap film shots that inspired me to have another go at photographing them. It proved to be every bit the frustrating experience I remembered but I’m determined to master this technique and shall be having another go. My first effort here.
